Registration
The Registration of new e-mail address in UMailNET is free.
When you sign up, you first of all should choose an unique name that will be used to log into the system and represents the main part of your e-mail (before the @ symbol). When you select a name you can use only the characters of the English (Latin) alphabet. For example, the address nikolay@umail.net is OK, but nikôlà@umail.net will not be accepted.
The system itself will tell you in the process of entering the name, whether it is acceptable for registration and is free it at the moment (ie, whether this name have been taken by someone earlier).
To complete the registration you will need also to enter the following parameters:

- Password - a secret word by which you can enter the system;
- Your first name and last name;
- Security question (eg "Your favorite movie?") and your answer on it. This information will be used to restore your password in case if you forget it.
Important note about password and security question!
When choosing a password do NOT use ordinary words, especially personal data (name, date of birth, address, zip code, etc.), since such passwords are very unsecure and can be easily cracked. The length of the password has a particular importance: the longer your password, the harder to pick it out.
You should be also very careful when you select an answer to the security question because an attacker can gain access to your mailbox, if he/she will choose the correct answer to your security question. It is best if you give your own security question.

After entering all the parameters you will need to pass "anti-robot" test (so-called CAPTCHA) ie, enter the number or text shown in the picture. This check prevents the registration by spam-bots.
Signing in
To sign in just enter correct user name and password and click on "Sign In" button. There is a special "I Forgot my Password" link which can be used to recover the password if you forgot it. The system allows you to enter a login / password not more than 5 times from one IP address. After that you will be automatically redirected to the password recovery page.
Password recovery
To recover a forgotten password, follow these steps:
- On the main page click on the link "I forgot my password";
- Enter your user name and number or text shown on the picture (anti-robot test). Click "Continue";
- Enter the answer to the security question you selected during registration;
- If everything was done well, the system will prompt you to enter a new password. Enter it and click "Continue".
Changing your password or security question
To change your password or security question, please visit Settings / User / Security page.
Warning!
In order to prevent theft of your account the system will not allow you to change the password and security question during a short period of time. It should take at least 1 week between such changes.
If you have any suspicion that somebody is trying to steal your account (for example, your old password does not fit, but you did not change it), please contact the administration of the service immediately.
