Why have I not received the email sent to my address ( username@umail.net )?
The anti-spam system of umail.net uses whitelist-based filtering. This means that you can only receive messages from addresses that are included in your address book. All other messages go to the "spam" folder.
You can add a new contact to your address book by doing one of the following:
You can add a new contact to your address book by doing one of the following:
- Send a message to a person; his address will automatically be included into the address book,
- When a message is sent from your CAPTCHA-protected personal info page (read more about this in the page below);
- Add a new record to your address book in the "contacts" section.
I’ve forgotten my password. What should I do?
Visit our password recovery page. You can access this page by following the link "Forgot your password?" found on the homepage
How do I inform my friends about my new e-mail address?
Because umail.net uses an anti-spam system it would be better if you inform your friends by printing the address of your personal info page ( http://username.umail.net ) on your business cards or publish it on your website. It’s better this way instead of giving out your email address ( username@umail.net ) since people sending you messages from this page are automatically included in your address book, therefore enabled to send you messages to your email address, which is more commonly used.
Are there any limitations in using Umail.NET?
- Mail box size.
All the data in umail.net are stored on special servers called repositories. For the time being, the user's quota (including letters, contacts, temporary addresses etc) is limited only by the size of the repository on which the user's account is stored. Each repository’s total size is nearly 14 terabytes (14,000 gigabytes). Te capacity of a repository is shared between users whose accounts are located on that server. This means that if you are the only user on a server, you can utilize its full capacity. - Attachment size.
The total size of the attachments in a single email should not exceed 20 MB. In addition, there’s a limit of 20 attachments per email. - Logging into the system.
In order to prevent account theft, umail.net blocks access to your account after 5 unsuccessful login attempts. - Sending messages.
If you attempt to send many massages at once, umail.net will require you identifying yourself as a human for every following letter. This limitation exists in order to prevent spam.
Can I connect to my mail box using POP3, IMAP or SMTP?
Unfortunately, this is not possible for now. Nevertheless, we are planning to add this option in the future.
Can I use my umail.net address to sign up with other on-line resources? Websites and forums for example?
When you sign up on websites or forums, you’re usually required to indicate your real email address. Since there’s a risk that your address will become available to spammers, umail.net allows you to create additional, disposable email addresses ( alias@username.umail.net ), instead of using your main address ( username@umail.net ). All messages sent to a disposable address will immediately be redirected to your Inbox, but you can easily disable or remove (dispose) such address at any time.
How can I remove my name from the outgoing messages?
To change or clear your name that appears in the "From" field, go to the "Settings" page and choose the "Mail / Common" form and then the field "Name".
What should I do when the message list fails to load or an unknown error appears?
There’s probably a pop-up blocking application enabled (e.g. AdBlock, ADstopper, NoScript), firewall (e.g. Agnitum Outpost, Ashampoo FireWall, ZoneAlarm) or an antivirus (e.g. Dr. Web, Kaspersky, ESET NOD32) installed on your PC. Simply add the necessary rules in that application so that the filters don’t block the domain umail.net.
